Conference Dinner: Tokyo Bay Cruise on Yakatabune

The MEC 2026 conference dinner will be held on a traditional Japanese houseboat, "Yakatabune". We have chartered the boat "Fukagawa Fujimi" for a private cruise, where attendees can enjoy the night view of Tokyo Bay along with traditional Japanese cuisine.

  • Date: Wednesday, May 27, 2026
  • Departure: 19:00 (The cruise takes approximately 2.5 hours)

Menu

  • Tempura: Kisu (Japanese whiting), Megochi (flathead), squid, shrimp, conger eel, and 3 kinds of seasonal vegetables.
  • Others: Sashimi, edamame, hors d'oeuvre, Fukagawa-don (clam and rice bowl), clear soup, Japanese pickles, and 2 kinds of fruits.

(Note: The menu is subject to slight changes depending on the season and availability.)

Dietary Restrictions & Allergies

  • Vegetarian Option: If you have requested a vegetarian meal, you will be required to sit in a designated seating area. Please be sure to confirm the details at the conference registration desk in advance.
  • Allergies: The venue will accommodate food allergies as much as possible.

Accessibility & Seating

  • Please note that passengers are required to take off their shoes before boarding the boat.
  • The seating is "Horigotatsu" style (sunken seating where you can lower your legs, similar to sitting on a chair).

Weather Conditions

In the event of severe weather that prevents the boat from departing, dinner will still be served on the boat while it is moored safely at the pier.

Access & Transportation

To the Boarding Point (Monzen-nakacho):

  • Take the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line from Iidabashi Station to Monzen-nakacho Station (6 stops).
  • Take Exit 2 and meet in front of the Daily Yamazaki convenience store on your right.
  • A shuttle bus will transport guests from there to the boarding area. (Note: Exact bus departure times will be added later.)

Return (Ryogoku):

  • Please note that the boat will disembark at a different location (Ryogoku) after the cruise.
