Discussion

• Tokyo MEC 2026 recap
  • 5 student bursaries were awarded
  • Approx. 90 people attended in person and around 30 attended online
  • David Lewis is putting the conference proceedings together
• Discussion from MEC community meeting
  • Community is still interested in identifying a communication platform that is not Slack
  • MEI Board will identify requirements and scope for a communication platform to begin the process
• MEC 2027 will be held in Rome during June 7-10 2027
  • Johannes Kepper has been appointed the Program Chair
• Sponsorships
  • MEI Board has put in-kind sponsorships on hold at this time and will only accept monetary sponsorships. There is currently no shared understanding regarding in-kind sponsorships and further discussion is required before we accept in-kind sponsorships.
• Calendering
  • Next Board meetings will be on July 27: 10 AM EDT / 4 PM CEST
