• Developer’s Workshop
  • Martha is working to set final dates during October 2026 and will announce them soon to the MEI Community
  • Workshop will be hosted by Karen Desmond at the University of Maynooth (Ireland)
• Music Encoding Conference 2027
  • Host of MEC 2027 will be confirmed by end of April and will be announced at the MEC Community Meeting

Discussion

• Sponsorships
  • There is a potential sponsor who is interested in providing financial and in-kind support for MEI
  • MEI Board members offered feedback regarding expectations and accountability for in-kind support
  • Anna K. will follow up with the potential sponsor
• Project and Funder Acknowledgments
  • David W. suggested acknowledging projects / funders for work in improving the MEI schema within the guidelines with a very brief statement in the version-specific introduction (e.g. 1.1.2 for v5.1) after the description of the work, for example: This work conducted by at , funded by ().
  • MEI Board members discussed the merits of including a high-level statement in the version-specific introduction of the MEI guidelines
  • We will discuss this further at the next board meeting when David W. can participate in the conversation

• Mar 16 meeting was cancelled
• Next Board meetings will be on May 7: 10 AM EDT / 4 PM CEST
