The 2016 Music Encoding Conference and the pre-conference workshops will take place in the Elizabeth Wirth Music Building of the Schulich School of Music, Montréal, Québec, Canada. The Schulich School of Music is situated near the plateau of Mount Royal, minutes from various attractions downtown, and walking distance to historic Old Montréal.

Montréal is served by Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL), approximately 20 kilometers from downtown Montréal.

Transportation from the airport to downtown Montréal
The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) runs a bus (747) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from the airport to various locations downtown. To get to McGill and the nearby accommodations by bus, take the 747 bus from the airport. The rate for the 747 bus is $10 CAD, available at metro kiosks in the airport; this also includes a day pass for STM travel about Montréal. More information can be found here.
If you are taking the 747 bus from the airport, the following directions may be of help:
- Follow the 747 bus signs in the airport to get on the bus, and then get off at Lionel-Groulx metro station.
- Catch the green line metro, direction Honoré-Beaugrand.
- To get to McGill (527 Sherbrooke O.) or Carrefour Sherbrooke (475 Sherbrooke O.): get off at the McGill metro stop. Walk north to Sherbrooke (2 blocks), and then turn right on Sherbrooke.
- To get to the Marriott (475 Président-Kennedy ave.): get off at Place des Arts metro, walk north to Président-Kennedy (1.5 blocks) and then turn left and walk two more blocks to the hotel.
